He explained that the meeting discussed the development of handling the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic to the new National Capital (IKN).

Previously, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, officials from the coalition party supporting the government invited Jokowi to the State Palace.

As reported by CNNIndonesia, Friday, August 27, 2021, the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, revealed that during the meeting, Jokowi conveyed the progress of handling the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as about vaccination achievements.

Puan also said that in this case the DPR would continue to help.

“The DPR will continue to assist the government in handling the Covid-19 pandemic in order to save the people. It’s time for all elements of the nation to unite against this common enemy,” said Puan in her official statement, Friday, August 27, 2021.

At today’s meeting, added Puan, Jokowi also revealed that the construction of new IKN will continue but wait for the right time.

“But so that all matters related to regulations and technicalities can be prepared properly and thoroughly. And it needs to be further coordinated with the DPR RI,” said the chairman of the PDIP DPP.

Previously, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, the general chairman and secretary general of political parties supporting the government were also invited by President Jokowi. There were five things they talked about.

“From the five topics above, we didn’t talk about the 1945 Constitution, but talked about five topics that are currently the focus of President Jokowi’s government,” said Jhonny Plate, Secretary General of Partai Nasdem when confirmed, Wednesday, August 25, 2021 yesterday.

He said the five topics discussed were related to the development and evaluation of the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, the national economy, the state’s economic and business strategy, state administration, and the nation’s capital city.
