“Regarding the existence of my name in issue 23/Pdt.Sus-HKI/Cipta/2021/PN Niaga Jkt.Pst. Tina Toon is only a singer (who is under a label contract at the time) where the ownership and management of songs and copyright are the domain and power of the label,” said Tina Toon to reporters via text message, Saturday, August 28, 2021.

The owner of the real name Agustina Hermanto also emphasized that she was not the defendant in the case
“Not a defendant but also a defendant, as a complement to the lawsuit,” explained Tina Toon.

As is known, Tina Toon was previously reported to have been sued for Rp. 10.7 billion in relation to the copyright of a song by a person named Engkan Herikan to the Central Jakarta Commercial Court. The lawsuit was filed in February 2021.
Engkan Herikan’s attorney, Muhammad Iqbal Arbianto through the KH Infotainment channel on Youtube, said his client felt aggrieved because the song Bintang which was popularized by the Anima band was sung by Tina Toon without his knowledge. The song Bintang was created by Engkan Herikan.
“In essence, our client feels disadvantaged because the song created by our client, namely the song Bintang and popularized by the Anima band, is performed and the name of the creator is changed,” explained Muhammad Iqbal.
However, it is not only Tina Toon who is being sued by Engkan Herikan. A number of parties were also sued, including Basia, Baros Roulette, Ian Juanda, Andri Anima, Universal Music Indonesia, Sony Music Indonesia, and WAMI.
