Terkini.id, Jakarta – Remember! Starting today, August 28, all public transportation must use the PeduliLindung application. Starting today, Saturday, August 28, 2021, passengers of all modes of public transportation must use the PeduliLindung application.
The reason is, the application has been mandated as a condition of travel in all modes of transportation. Both in land, sea, air, and rail modes.
In a coordination meeting with transportation operators held last Tuesday, August 24, 2021, the Ministry of Transportation has agreed to implement the PeduliLindungi application simultaneously in all transportation modes as of August 28, 2021.
“The transportation sector is one of the important sectors to regulate mobility during the Covid-19 pandemic. Transportation nodes such as terminals, stations, ports and airports are part of our filter to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” said Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi in his official statement, Friday, August 27, 2021.
Budi Karya at the meeting has also instructed the Director Generals within the Ministry of Transportation to prepare supporting regulations.

All operators or operators of transportation facilities and infrastructure are also asked to prepare themselves, both in terms of systems and procedures so that the implementation of the PeduliLindungi application can run well.
“At the beginning of the application of this application, I asked the officers at the transportation nodes to help people who use transportation services who are still not aware of this rule,” said Budi Karya.
According to him, the implementation of the PeduliLindungi application itself had already started in the air transportation sector in July 2021 and then at several airports.
In Circular Letter Number 62 of 2021 concerning Instructions for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation During the Covid-19 Pandemic, there is a clause that requires airplane passengers to use the One Data Covid-19 Cares Protect Information System.
Budi Karya explained that the PeduliLindungi application has several benefits. For example, helping officers to digitally ensure the process of validating health documents at transportation nodes, making it safer, faster, easier and simpler.
This application also minimizes physical contact because you don’t have to carry paper documents from Covid-19 test results or vaccination cards.
“This application is also safer from falsification of swab test results (PCR/Antigen),” said Budi Karya.
